More than 10,000 women performing combat tasks on front line - Stefanishyna
More than 10,000 women are currently performing combat tasks on the front line.
The Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, Olha Stefanishyna, announced this during her participation in the panel discussion "Women, peace, security: the role of women leaders" within the framework of the NATO Public Forum.
"Ukrainians are resisting russian aggression as a single people - both women and men. More and more women are serving in the defense forces, and currently more than 10,000 women are performing combat tasks on the front line," Stefanishyna said.
She also emphasized that the role of women is also important in the restoration of the country, in particular for the development of Ukraine's economic potential.
"We have also rethought the role of women in the restoration and reconstruction of Ukraine. We already have a large program that provides that women will have more access and will be actively involved in the process of restoration and reconstruction," the Deputy Prime Minister noted.
We will remind you that as of January 2024, the total number of women in the Armed Forces of Ukraine was 66,900, of which 47,200 were military personnel.
