Sweden becomes 11th member of Drone Coalition, which helps in providing AFU with drones
Sweden has joined the Drone Coalition — a group of countries that have joined together to help Ukraine provide the military with unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
The corresponding statement was made by the Minister of Defense of Sweden, Pål Jonson.
According to him, Sweden joins the coalition to support the Ukrainian military with drones together with eleven other states.
Jonson signed the relevant agreement on the sidelines of the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO) summit, which is being held in Washington.
"Drones have become an important part of modern warfare and are of great importance for Ukraine to be able to stop Russia’s attacks <...> Together with other countries, we will support Ukraine in the coalition on drones with regard to purchasing, procurement and drone pilot training," said the Minister of Defense Sweden.
Recall that the Drone Coalition began its work in February 2024 following the results of the meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (Ramstein).
As of today, the Drone Coalition includes Australia, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland and the UK.
As the Ukrainian News agency previously reported, earlier today, on July 11, the Danish Ministry of Defense announced that Copenhagen had joined the Drone Coalition.
