119 combat clashes take place on the front, most of them on Pokrovske and Lyman Axes – General Staff
On July 5, according to data at 10:00 p.m., a total of 119 combat clashes took place at the front, most of them on the Pokrovske (38) and Lyman (21) Axes.
This follows from a statement by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine posted on its Facebook page, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"As of 10:00 p.m. on 07/05/2024, 119 combat clashes took place. The situation remained the hottest on the Pokrovske Axis, and the enemy is also active in the Lyman and Toretsk Axes," the message says.
According to the data of the General Staff as of 10 p.m., during the day, the enemy carried out six missile strikes (using 12 missiles) and 47 airstrikes (using, in particular, 63 anti-aircraft missiles), 422 kamikaze drones to destroy the territory of Ukraine, carried out 2,797 attacks on the positions of the Armed Forces and settlements.
On the Kharkiv Axis, the enemy attacked five times near Hlyboke and Lyptsi.
On the Kupiyansk Axis, the enemy tried to advance five times during the day near Synkivka.
On the Lyman Axis, the enemy attacked 21 times in the areas of Nevske, Serebrianske Forest, Hrekivka, Makiyivka, and Terny.
On the Siversk Axis, the enemy tried seven times to break through the defenses in the areas of Bilohorivka, Spirne, and Vyimka.
On the Kramatorsk Axis, the enemy attacked six times in the areas of Ivanivske, Klishchiyivka, Chasiv Yar, and Kalynivka.
The enemy showed the greatest activity on the Pokrovske Axis: since the beginning of the day, the occupiers have tried 38 times to penetrate the defense in the areas of Novoselivka Persha, Prohres, Yevhenivka, Kalynove, Novooleksandrivka, Yasnobrodivka, Vozdvyzhenka, and Netayilove, and are concentrating their efforts to advance towards Novooleksandrivka and Novoselivka Persha.
On the Kurakhove and Vremivka Axes, the enemy attacked the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine seven times each, showing the greatest activity in the area of Kostiantynivka, on the Orikhiv Axis, in the area of Mala Tokmachka.
On the Dnipro Axis, the situation did not undergo significant changes; no losses of positions and territories were allowed, and Ukrainian soldiers repelled five attacks by russian invaders on the left bank of the Dnieper River.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on July 4, according to data at 10:00 p.m., a total of 130 combat clashes took place at the front, most of them on the Pokrovsky (33) and Toretsk (18) Axes.
