House Of Representatives Of U.S. Congress Adopts Bill Envisaging Prolongation Of Sanctions Against Russia And Prohibition Against Recognition Of Crimea's Annexation

The House of Representatives of the U.S. Congress (the lower chamber of the Parliament) has adopted bill ''Stability and Democracy for Ukraine Act'' envisaging prolongation of sanctions imposed against Russia until it implements the Minsk agreements and prohibition of the United States recognition of annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation.

The Embassy of Ukraine in the United States announced this on its page in Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

It is suggested that certain sanctions will be effective until the President of the United States submits to the Congress evidence of restoration of the sovereignty of Ukraine over the peninsular.

The Stability and Democracy for Ukraine Act also envisages that lethal weapons will be included in the list of means of support to Ukraine coordinated with allies and partners of the United States.

Some provisions of the act aim at enhancement of efforts against the Russia information propaganda and facilitation of foreign investment in the economy of Ukraine.

Before the signing by the President of the United States the bill has yet to be supported by the Senate (the upper chamber of the Parliament).

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the United States confirm readiness to provide Ukraine USD 1 billion in state guarantees.
