Ukraine's First Lady Olena Zelenska will not participate in the Ukraine Recovery Conference, which is being held as part of the preparations for URC 2026 in Gdańsk.
It was reported by the Polish publication Wirtualna Polska.
The University of Gdańsk confirmed that Olena Zelenska will not moderate the discussion “Identity as a Skill for the Future: Education, Responsibility and Leadership” nor will she deliver a lecture. The event’s program remains unchanged.
The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that she was supposed to arrive with the Ukrainian President’s delegation, but the visit has been canceled.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha will also not participate in the events in Gdańsk. The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that this year’s URC format does not require the head of the ministry to be present.
The Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2026) is scheduled for June 25–26, 2026, in Gdańsk.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko will lead the Ukrainian delegation to the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2026).
Ihor Smilianskyi, the head of Ukrposhta, declined to participate in the Ukraine Recovery Conference due to a conflict with Polish customs authorities.
There are rumors that immediately after the conference, Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery—Minister of Communities and Territories Development Oleksii Kuleba will resign.
