Farmers harvest 26.1 million tons of grain

As of September 22, Ukrainian agricultural enterprises harvested 26.1 million tons of grain and leguminous crops from 6.787 million hectares (61%) with a yield of 38.4 tons per hectare.

This follows from a statement by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

In particular, a total of 4.7 million hectares (99%) of wheat were threshed, with a yield of 41.0 tons per hectare, and 19.2 million tons were threshed; 1.6 million hectares (100%) of barley were threshed, with a yield of 34.7 tons per hectare, and 5.5 million tons were threshed.

109,400 hectares of peas were threshed (98%), with a yield of 22.9 tons per hectare, 250,700 tons were threshed; 20,900 hectares (0.5%) of corn were threshed for grain, with a yield of 44.1 tons per hectare, 92,200 tons were threshed; buckwheat was threshed on 47,200 hectares (40%), with a yield of 14.0 tons per hectare, 58,500 tons were threshed; millet was threshed on 28,800 hectares (64%), with a yield of 23.7 tons per hectare, 68,100 tons were threshed.

Agricultural producers of the Dnipropetrovsk Region, Kirovohrad Region, and the Odesa Region threshed more than 2.0 million tons of grain, while the highest yield of grain and leguminous crops was among the farmers of the Khmelnytskyi Region - 62.1 tons per hectare.

In addition, sunflower harvesting continues, it was carried out on an area of ​​672,000 hectares, (14%) 1 million 294,000 tons of seeds were threshed with a yield of 19.2 tons per hectare.

228,000 tons of soybeans were threshed with a yield of 23.3 tons per hectare, the area is 97,700 hectares, (6%).

Rapeseed harvesting was completed on an area of ​​1.1 million hectares, 3.1 million tons of seeds were threshed (100%) with a yield of 28.8 centners per hectare.

469,000 tons of sugar beet roots were dug with a yield of 512 t/hectare, the area is 9,200 hectares, (5%).

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Ukrainian Grain Association lowered the current forecast for the harvest of grain and oil crops this year by 7.1%, or 4.9 million tons, to 64.5 million tons compared to the July forecast.

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food maintains the forecast for the harvest of grain and oil crops at the level of 65-67 million tons in 2022.

In 2021, farmers harvested 106 million tons of grain, leguminous, and oil crops, which is the largest indicator in the entire history of independent Ukraine.

More than 84 million tons of cereals and legumes were harvested, and 22.6 million tons of oil crops.
