Court hands over UAH 300 million of Yanukovych's son to Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence

The court has handed over UAH 300 million, which belonged to a son of former president Viktor Yanukovych, Oleksandr, to the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The Prosecutor General's Office has said this in a statement to the Ukrainian News Agency.

We are talking about the funds seized from the PJSC All-Ukrainian Development Bank.

Oleksandr Yanukovych has been the owner of 100-percent stake in the bank's shares since 2011.

Bank employees tried to hide the origin of the cash of this financial institution, because the money has no legal source of origin.

Bank employees, with the help of financial transactions, legalized income that was obtained from criminal sources.

During the pre-trial investigation, the prosecutors of the PGO seized the funds of the officials of the All-Ukrainian Development Bank and directly the funds of Oleksandr Yanukovych.

Subsequently, by court decisions, the money was transferred to ARMA.

Since the beginning of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation, the prosecutors of the Prosecutor General's Office (PGO) initiated the forcible seizure of property seized in criminal proceedings on the suspicion of the former president's son.

Currently, the court decided to send the mentioned funds to the Defense Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

UAH 304 million is credited to a special account to ensure Ukraine's defense capability.
