Finance Ministry Attracts UAH 183.5 Billion, USD 1.8 Billion, And EUR 420 Million From Government Bonds Placement To State Budget In 8M

In the first eight months of 2021, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine attracted UAH 183.5 billion, USD 1,810 million, and EUR 420 million from the placement of government domestic loan bonds.

That follows from the NBU data, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

In particular, the Finance Ministry placed hryvnia-denominated government bonds for UAH 183.535 billion, up 44.3% year over year.

Besides, the Ministry placed securities for USD 1,810 million and EUR 420 million, down 26.7% and down 33.4%, respectively, year over year.

The weighted average hryvnia-denominated securities yield was 11.4% per annum, that of the dollar-denominated bonds was 3.8% per annum, and that of the euro-denominated bonds was 2.5% per annum.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in 2020, the Finance Ministry attracted UAH 258.8 billion, USD 3.9 billion and EUR 845 million from the placement of government domestic loan bonds.

In 2019, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine attracted UAH 227.6 billion, USD 4.3 billion, and EUR 387 million from the placement of government domestic loan bonds.
