Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Up 8.8% To Record-Breaking 18,132, Number Of New Lethal Cases Down 9.9% To 326 On March 25

On March 25, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 18,132 over March 24 to 1,614,707, and the number of deaths increased by 326 over March 24 to 31,461; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 8.8%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 9.9%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The number of new cases on March 25 is a record-breaking figure in Ukraine since the beginning of the epidemic.

According to the report, as of the morning of March 26, a total of 1,614,707 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 31,461 fatal cases; 1,290,158 people had recovered.

On March 25, a total of 18,132 new disease cases were recorded, 326 people died, and 7,138 people recovered.

Therefore, as of March 25, the number of newly-infected people was higher than that of those who recovered (18,132 vs. 7,138).

The number of coronavirus-infected people as of the morning of March 26 was 293,088, up 3.8% over March 25.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (157,767), Odesa region (103,328), and Kharkiv region (99,190).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 98,744 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 91,399; Dnipropetrovsk region – 87,548 cases, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 77,797, Zaporizhia region – 76,399, Zhytomyr region – 68,258, Chernivtsi region – 68,132, Khmelnytskyi region - 60,679, Donetsk region – 56,180, Sumy region – 56,036, Rivne region – 55,810, and Cherkasy region – 55,546.

A total of 54,714 cases have been registered in Vinnytsia region, 53,237 cases – in Poltava region, 52,663 cases - in Zakarpattia region, 52,122 cases - in Ternopil region, 50,295 cases – in Mykolayiv region, 45,410 cases – in Volyn region, 40,546 cases – in Chernihiv region, 23,533 – in Kherson region, 16,793 – in Luhansk region, and 12,581 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 24, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 16,669 over March 23 to 1,596,575, and the number of deaths increased by 362 over March 23 to 31,135; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 17.6%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 5.8%.

On March 23, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 14,174 over March 22 to 1,579,906, and the number of deaths increased by 342 over March 22 to 30,773; at the same time, the number of new cases increased by 23.5%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 2.7%.
