Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Down 29.2% To 7,893, Number Of New Lethal Cases Down 5.4% To 157 On March 21

On March 21, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 7,893 over March 20 to 1,554,256, and the number of deaths increased by 157 over March 20 to 30,098; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 29.2%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 5.4%.

The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of March 22, a total of 1,554,256 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 30,098 fatal cases; 1,260,842 people had recovered.

On March 21, a total of 7,893 new disease cases were recorded, 157 people died, and 2,993 people recovered.

Therefore, as of March 21, the number of newly-infected people was higher than that of those who recovered (7,893 vs. 2,993).

The number of coronavirus-infected people as of the morning of March 22 was 263,316, up 1.8% over March 21.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (152,986), Odesa region (98,249), and Kharkiv region (95,416).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 94,474 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 87,848; Dnipropetrovsk region – 83,909 cases, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 76,181, Zaporizhia region – 74,449, Chernivtsi region – 65,939, Zhytomyr region – 65,592, Khmelnytskyi region - 57,280, Sumy region – 54,104, Rivne region – 53,772, Donetsk region – 53,714, and Cherkasy region – 53,630.

A total of 51,762 cases have been registered in Vinnytsia region, 50,900 cases – in Poltava region, 50,501 cases - in Zakarpattia region, 50,012 cases - in Ternopil region, 48,575 cases – in Mykolayiv region, 44,205 cases – in Volyn region, 39,473 cases – in Chernihiv region, 23,029 – in Kherson region, 16,222 – in Luhansk region, and 12,034 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 20, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 11,145 over March 19 to 1,546,363, and the number of deaths increased by 166 over March 19 to 29,941; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 27.1%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 36.2%.

On March 19, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 15,292 over March 18 to 1,535,218, and the number of deaths increased by 260 over March 18 to 29,775; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 3.5%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 0.8%.
