Number Of New Covid-19 Cases Down 41.5% To 3,261, Number Of New Lethal Cases Down 28.3% To 76 On March 8

On March 8, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 3,261 over March 7 to 1,410,061, and the number of deaths increased by 76 over March 7 to 27,204; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 41.5%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 28.3%.

The Ministry of Health has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, as of the morning of March 9, a total of 1,410,061 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases were registered in Ukraine; the number included 27,204 fatal cases; 1,199,229 people had recovered.

On March 8, a total of 3,261 new disease cases were recorded, 76 people died, and 975 people recovered.

Therefore, as of March 8, the number of newly-infected people was higher than that of those who recovered (3,261 vs. 975).

The number of coronavirus-infected people as of the morning of March 9 was 183,628, up 1.2% over March 8.

Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (142,517), Odesa region (88,674), and Kharkiv region (86,869).

Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 83,211 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 79,142; Dnipropetrovsk region – 76,389 cases, Zaporizhia region – 70,751, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 69,921, Chernivtsi region – 59,134, Zhytomyr region – 55,686, Khmelnytskyi region - 50,243, Rivne region – 50,084, Sumy region – 49,919, Cherkasy region – 49,725, and Donetsk region – 48,837.

A total of 47,259 cases have been registered in Poltava region, 44,563 cases – in Ternopil region, 44,509 cases - in Zakarpattia region, 44,040 cases - in Mykolayiv region, 42,222 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 41,405 cases – in Volyn region, 36,699 cases – in Chernihiv region, 22,010 – in Kherson region, 15,246 – in Luhansk region, and 11,006 cases – in Kirovohrad region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 8, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 5,572 over March 7 to 1,406,800, and the number of deaths increased by 106 over March 7 to 27,128; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 22.3%, and the number of new lethal cases increased by 2.9%.

On March 6, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 7,167 over March 5 to 1,401,228, and the number of deaths increased by 103 over March 5 to 27,022; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 21.6%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 33.9%.
