Health Ministry Expects First Applications For Registration Of Coronavirus Vaccines In Ukraine By February 15

The Ministry of Health expects the first applications for the registration of coronavirus vaccines for emergency use in Ukraine by February 15.

Deputy Minister of Health for European Integration Ihor Ivaschenko announced this during a briefing, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"It is planned that this week the first applications for state registration for emergency medical use under obligations will be submitted to the State Expert Center," he said.

Ivaschenko recalled that the registration certificate for emergency use will be issued for a period of one year with the possibility of renewal for another year.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine has received confirmation to supply 12 million doses of COVID-19 coronavirus vaccines from AstraZeneca (UK-Sweden) and Novavax (USA) from February.

The COVAX global initiative intends to deliver to Ukraine 117,000 doses of vaccine produced by the alliance of Pfizer and BioNTech and 2.215 million doses of vaccine produced by AstraZeneca by July.

Also, Minister of Health Maksym Stepanov states that in the near future, the supply of vaccines against coronavirus produced by Sinovac Biotech will begin.
