On January 17, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 3,034 over January 16 to 1,163,716, and the number of deaths increased by 67 over January 16 to 20,869; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 49.4%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 42.2%.
The National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
According to the report, as at the morning of January 18, there were 1,163,716 laboratory-confirmed Covid-19 cases registered in Ukraine, the number included 20,869 lethal cases; besides, 871,196 people had recovered.
On January 17, a total of 3,034 new cases of the disease were recorded, 67 people died, and 5,236 people recovered.
Therefore, as at January 17, the indicator of newly-infected people was higher than the number of those, who recovered (5,236 vs 3,034).
As at the morning of January 18, the overall number of those, who are staying ill with the Covid-19 (less the recovered and died) made 271,651, down 0.8% over January 17.
Since the start of the epidemic, the largest number of coronavirus-infected people has been registered in the city of Kyiv (122,997), Odesa region (78,557), and Kharkiv region (74,796).
Besides, Lviv region has registered a total of 67,495 coronavirus infection cases, Kyiv region – 66,338; Dnipropetrovsk region – 64,557cases, Zaporizhia region – 62,043, Ivano-Frankivsk region – 45,360, Sumy region – 44,384, Rivne region – 44,149, Cherkasy region - 43,922, Chernivtsi region – 43,004, Zhytomyr region – 42,720, Khmelnytskyi region – 42,395, and Donetsk region – 41,817.
A total of 41,189 cases have been registered in Poltava region, 36,778 cases – in Mykolayiv region, 36,195 cases - in Ternopil region, 35,394 cases - in Volyn region, 32,544 cases – in Chernihiv region, 29,863 cases – in Zakarpattia region, 25,000 cases – in Vinnytsia region, 19,801 cases – in Kherson region, 13,042 – in Luhansk region, and 9,376 cases – in Kirovohrad region.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on January 16, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 5,990 over January 15 to 1,160,682, and the number of deaths increased by 116 over January 15 to 20,802; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 22.5%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 19.4%.
On January 15, the number of newly-registered Covid-19 cases in Ukraine rose by 7,729 over January 14 to 1,154,692, and the number of deaths increased by 144 over January 14 to 20,686; at the same time, the number of new cases decreased by 5.7%, and the number of new lethal cases decreased by 13.2%.
