Ukraine Joins Investigation Following Crash Of An-148 Plane Outside Moscow

Ukraine will participate in the investigation following the crash of An-148 plane outside Moscow on February 11.

The Interstate Aviation Committee announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"The Notification was sent to the Ukraine as the State of designer. The Ukraine has assigned the accredited representative and his advisers for participation in the current investigation in accordance with the ICAO Annex 13 standards," reads the statement.

The statement reads that the priority of the activities on the accident site is given to onboard recorders searching and to the aircraft fragments identification with the fragments further evacuation and flat layout.

According to the statement, at the accident site, one of the recorders has been already found. It will soon be provided to the IAC Laboratory for the examination and data downloading and decoding.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Ukraine states that there were no Ukrainian citizens among the victims of the An-148 plane crash outside Moscow (the Russian Federation) that took place on February 11.

The An-148 plane was conducting the on-route flight from Moscow (Domodedovo airport, RF) to Orsk (Orenburg region, RF).

There were 65 passengers and 6 crew members onboard.
