The Prosecutor's Office has served with suspicion one of leading inspectors of the Kyiv District Department of the Main Department of the State Emergency Situations Service (SESS) in Odesa region accusing the inspector of neglect of duty that has led to a fire at the children's recreation camp Viktoriya in Odesa. Press service of the Regional Prosecutor's Office has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports. In particular, law enforcers established that the above inspector during 2016-2017 repeatedly discovered breaches of the fire safety rules at the Viktoriya children's camp that were documented and written down in a form of acts, and also gave recommendations on the measures to be taken to rectify the breaches and drew up administrative protocols. At the same time, the investigation established, that by neglect of duty the inspector had failed to take an administrative action with an administrative court in order to completely or partially suspend the operations of the camp until the breaches are rectified. As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, overnight into September 16, 2017, three children died as a result of fire that broke out at the children's recreation camp Viktoriya in Odesa. Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman directed Interior Minister Arsen Avakov and Chairperson of the National Police Serhii Kniazev to form a group for the investigation of the fire. On September 18, the Kyiv District Court of Odesa arrested two members of the staff of the Viktoriya's camp, director and a governess, without a possibility of a bail. On September 27, the Prymorskyi District Court of Odesa arrested property of the children's camp. On October 3, the Prosecutor's Office served with suspicion of neglect of duty former deputy Mayor of Odesa Zinaida Tsvyrynko in connection with the fire. On October 31, one of managers of a structural division of the SESS in Odesa region was served with suspicion of neglect of duty that had led to the fire and deaths of children.
