PACE Committee Refuses To Hold Debates On Renewal Of Right Of Russian Delegation To Vote

The Standing Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has refused to hold debates on renewal of the right of the Russian delegation to vote.

Verkhovna Rada member from the faction of the Solidarity Bloc of Petro Poroshenko Volodymyr Ariyev, the leaders of the Ukrainian delegation to PACE, wrote this on his Facebook page, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"The Standing Committee of the PACE has just refused to hold the debates on return of the Russian Federation to the PACE. Moreover, there will be debates on the topic 'Democracy is broken - which answer there will be'. I am happy that the PACE has put the stresses correctly," he wrote.

On November 21, in the agenda of the Standing Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe there appeared debates to discuss among other issues the question of resumption of the participation of the Russian delegation in the PACE.
