United States Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch says the Russian project Nord Stream-2 may cost Ukraine loss of 3% of GDP.
She announced this at an international conference in Kyiv, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Nord Stream-2 will cut the gas transit through Ukraine and may cause Ukraine's loss of up to 3% of GDP," she said.
Ambassador Yovanovitch says Ukraine should remain a transiting country.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, United States Energy Secretary Rick Perry has said that construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline by Russia would pose a threat to the energy security of Ukraine and Europe.
