Visit Of U.S. Secretary Of Energy Perry To Ukraine Cancelled

A visit of the United States Secretary of Energy Rick Perry to Ukraine planned in late August has been cancelled.

Ukrainian News Agency has learnt this from a source in the energy market.

Press service of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine states that the visit of Mr. Perry was rescheduled to a later date due to Hurricane Harvey that hit the United States' coast on the night into Saturday, August 26.

In addition, an event that was supposed to be held in Kyiv to introduce a strategy of development of the Naftogaz of Ukraine national oil and gas company and attended by Mr. Perry was also cancelled.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, information about the visit of Rick Perry to Ukraine on August 29 had appeared on the website of the United States Secretary of Energy.
