Wizz Air To Launch Kyiv - Lisbon And Kyiv - Tallinn Routes, 11 Additional Flights And Up Number Of Aircraft In Ukraine By 1 To 3 In 2018

Wizz Air airline company (Hungary) intends to launch new routes Kyiv - Lisbon (Portugal) and Kyiv - Tallinn (Estonia), 11 additional flights per week in the existing routes and increase the number of aircraft in Ukraine by one to three in 2018.

The airline announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The company intends to add the third aircraft Airbus A320 to its Kyiv base at Zhuliany airport from April 2018.

During the same month, Wizz Air intends to launch two new routes from Kyiv to Lisbon and Tallinn, and also to increase the frequency of flights in the most popular destinations - 11 additional flights will be introduced per week as part of the Wizz Air summer schedule from Kyiv in 2018.

Tickets for all new flights will be available on the company's website from July 12 at a price of UAH 429.

The airline expects an increase in the number of seats by more than 1.5 million (+ 97% compared to the previous year).

With the introduction of the new aircraft, the frequency of flights to the most popular destinations from Kyiv will also increase: one flight per week will be added to Bratislava, Copenhagen and Dortmund, as well as two flights per week to Cologne, Memmingen, Larnaca and Hanover.

The company reported that in January-June 2017, more than 193,000 passengers used Wizz Air services on Ukrainian routes, which is by 33% more than in the same period last year.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Wizz Air stated that the passenger flow within flights to Ukraine was 418,000 people in 2016.

Wizz Air Ukraine suspended its operation on April 20, 2015.

The Wizz Air Group is the largest low-cost air company in Central and Eastern Europe.

The Wizz Air fleet consists of 74 airplanes: 63 Airbus A320 and 11 Airbus A321 passenger airliners.
