PrivatBank states that searches in its headquarter are conducted under investigation into illegal insider lending to former owners and top management of the bank.
Press service of the bank has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"Today at the head office of the bank, managers of its respective departments and investigators of the NACB started a thorough analysis of toxic loans portfolio accumulated by the previous owners of the bank. The bank's authorities cooperate with NACB in the investigation of illegal insider lending by former owners and top managers of the bank," a statement from PrivatBank read.
The work on analyzing of the toxic loans portfolio will continue for several days.
In addition to the NACB legal staff, there are officers of the NACB's special anticorruption combat squad engaged in the search.
"Their participation is necessary in order to ensure rapid reaction in case the information comes up about location of persons against whom the criminal investigation was opened," the bank said.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on Thursday, the NACB runs searches in the headquarters of nationalized PrivatBank.
