FC Dynamo Kyiv: NBU Bans PrivatBank From Crediting Football Club

FC Dynamo Kyiv says the National Bank of Ukraine has banned PrivatBank from issuing new loans to the football club and Dynamo is facing problems with payment of wage to its employees and the team.

FC Dynamo Kyiv announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

The statement reads that Dynamo has been attracting loans from PrivatBank on a loan agreement of 2009.

On December 13, 2016, the National Bank declared FC Dynamo Kyiv an entity affiliated with PrivatBank.

The statement reads that accounts of the football club were blocked on December 20, 2016.

On June 15-16, PrivatBank stopped provision of credit tranches to Dynamo again.

PrivatBank explained to the football club that the bank had received a letter dated June 14 from the National Bank of Ukraine signed by NBU Deputy Governor Kateryna Rozhkova and the bank stopped provision of tranches of the credit facility on the ground of the letter.

FC Dynamo Kyiv notes that the decision of the National Bank that Dynamo is affiliated with PrivatBank was terminated by a court ruling of March 20, 2017.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on December 18, 2016, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a decision to enter the capital of PrivatBank.

The Finance Ministry of Ukraine then bought 100% of the shares for UAH 1. PrivatBank was recapitalized for UAH 116.8 billion then.

On May 17, the District Administrative Court of Kyiv obliged PrivatBank to return personally to the Surkis family UAH 1.048 billion, USD 266,200 and EUR 8,000.
