Kyiv Subway Expecting Additional Revenues Of UAH 120 Million In 2017 Due To Higher Fare From July 15

The Kyivskyi Metropoliten municipal enterprise running the city subway is expecting additional UAH 120 million of revenues in 2017 due to the higher fare from July 15.

Viktor Brahynskyi, the director of the Kyivskyi Metropoliten municipal enterprise, told this to Ukrainian News Agency.

"The increase in the fare by UAH 1 will help to earn close to UAH 200 million of additional revenues a year. Since the fare will increase in July, the enterprise will earn an additional sum of UAH 100-120 million," he said.

He notes that the higher electric power tariffs have increased the expenses of the Kyiv subway by UAH 500 million a year.

On May 23, the Kyiv City State Administration published a draft resolution on its website on May 23 saying that the fare will be UAH 5 at the Kyiv subway and UAH 4 at buses, trolleybuses, trams, and the funicular.

The resolution will take effect on July 15, 2017.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Kyiv City State Administration intends to increase the fare at the Kyiv subway from UAH 4 to UAH 5 and at the municipal public transport to UAH 4 on July 15, 2017.

The Kyiv City State Administration says the prime cost of one trip at the Kyiv subway is UAH 6.64.
