The Polish Sejm has summoned the acting chairman of The State Automobile Road Service (Ukravtodor), Slawomir Nowak, to a hearing on the Amber Gold financial pyramid, which operated from 2009 to 2012.
This was reported by the Polish media outlet RMF FM.
It also noted that it considered this summon to be political.
Amber Gold was a Polish financial company based in Gdansk. Marcin Plichta founded the company on January 27, 2009.
The company was declared a financial pyramid that operated without permission from the country's Financial Supervision Commission.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed former Polish Minister of Transport Slawomir Nowak as the new acting head of Ukravtodor in October 2016.
Nowak served as Poland's Minister of Transport and Water Resources from 2011 to 2013 and resigned amid a scandal over an Ulysse Nardin wristwatch with an estimated cost of USD 5,500, which he did not declare in his tax return.
He also served as Poland's Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers under Prime Minister Donald Tusk from 2007 to 2013.
