Former finance minister of Ukraine Natalie Jaresko has been appointed as the executive director of the financial management and control council for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
The former minister has written this on the Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
She aims to return the country to the path of financial stability.
The Council's major task is to estimate and approve annual budget and financial stability restoration plan to be elaborated by the Government of the island.
Debts of Puerto Rico before its creditors in August 2015 exceeded USD 72 billion.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Jaresko occupied the post of the finance minister of Ukraine between December 2014 and April 2016.
