Ex-Naftogaz Deputy CEO Katsuba Released From Remand Prison

Oleksandr Katsuba, former deputy head of the Naftogaz of Ukraine national joint stock company, has been released from the Lukiyanivska remand prison in Kyiv.

A well-informed source announced this to Ukrainian News Agency.

"He is not in the remand prison," the source said.

According to the source, Oleksandr Katsuba was released from the remand prison several days ago.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko said Oleksandr Katsuba, the son of Member of Parliament Volodymyr Katsuba (Vidrodzhennia Party), agreed to cooperate with the investigation.

Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko also said that Oleksandr Katsuba agreed to compensate to the State UAH 100 million.

He was arrested on June 17, 2016.

Oleksandr Katsuba is suspected of committing crimes qualified under article 255 (Setting up a criminal organization) and article 191 (Misappropriation of property through abuse of office) of the Penal Code.

In particular, he is suspected of involvement in the misappropriation of UAH 449.9 million of Naftogaz funds.
