Ukraine Cuts USF Gas Reserves 44.1% To 8.2 Billion Cubic Meters As At March 4

As at March 4, 2017, Ukraine cut its gas reserves kept in the underground gas storage facilities (USF) by 44.12% or 6,500.23 million cubic meters to 8,231.8 million cubic meters.

The Ukrtransgaz public joint stock company, the operator of the Ukrainian gas transport system, has said this in a statement, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Since the very start of the 2016/2017 heating season, Ukraine has used USF gas 10.37% or 752.17 million cubic meters of gas less as against the data available as at respective date of 2016.

As at March 4, 2017, the USF contained 8,231.8 million cubic meters of gas, 16.06% or 1,574.79 million cubic meters less as against the data available as at March 4, 2016 (9,806.58 million cubic meters).

Ukrtransgaz USF are 26.6% full.

Over the first four days of March, Ukraine used 81.24 million cubic meters of USF gas, own production was 229.47 million cubic meters, and gas importation made 176.97 million cubic meters.

Since early March, Ukraine transited a total of 862.36million cubic meters (of them 38.96 million cubic meters were transited towards the Republic of Moldova).

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Naftogaz of Ukraine national joint stock company estimates the minimal technologically acceptable volume of gas in the underground gas storage facilities of Ukraine (USF) at 4.7 billion cubic meters.
