The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will allocate a land plot to Lviv for a new garbage recycling complex.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman wrote this in Twitter, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"A new land plot will be allocated to Lviv for a new garbage recycling complex," reads the statement.

During his trip to Lviv Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman instructed the Lvivc regional state administration to give to the city a land plot of 12.5 hectares on the territory of former mining and chemical facilities of the Sirka Yavoriv state mining and chemical enterprise.

"This land is not good for agriculture or construction as it is damaged by chemicals. But it can be used as the territory for a landfill," said Chairman of the Lviv Region State Administration Oleh Syniutka at a meeting in Lviv.

Syniutka says allocation of the land plot requires only a resolution of the head of the regional state administration.

Prime Minister Groysman says the city authorities will assume a commitment to create a landfill within six months.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Chairman of the Lviv Region State Administration Oleh Syniutka on January 26 said that removal of garbage from Lviv had got started.

Lviv Mayor Andrii Sadovyi states difficulties with the disposal of 500-600 tons of solid domestic waste daily.
