National Police Disciplines 20 Officers Following Kniazhychi Shootout

The National Police has brought to disciplinary responsibility 20 policemen following the shootout in Kniazhychi, Kyiv Region, of December 4, 2016.

Oleksandr Vakulenko, deputy head of the National Police, announced this to Ukrainian News Agency.

He said more specific information about the case would be provided later on January 18.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, five policemen were shot to death when firing at each other in Kniazhychi December 4.

Two police guard service staff, two Kyiv police operatives and a KORD special unit fighter were killed.

The Prosecutor General's Office suspects the leaders of the special police operation in Kniazhychi of negligence of duty.
