Poroshenko Names Horhan As Kyiv Governor

President Petro Poroshenko has appointed Oleksandr Horhan as Chairman of the Kyiv Region State Administration.

He announced this when introducing Horhan at the Administration, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Before, Horhan was Chairman of the Vyshhorod District State Administration of Kyiv Region.

Horhan was born in 1975 in Kalush, Ivano-Frankivsk Region.

In 1995, Horhan co-founded of Law Firm Justinian joint-stock company and from 2002 he began working as his lawyer.

From 2005 to 2010, he was a member of the Vyshhorod City Council.

From 2011, he was the director of the municipal undertaking Kyiv Water Stadium and in 2015 he was appointed as Chairman of the Vyshhorod District Administration.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the competition committee for senior civil service on October 11 elected Oleksandr Horhan as Chairman of the Kyiv Region State Administration.

September 9, Poroshenko dismissed Kyiv Governor Maksym Melnychuk.
