The Kyiv city state administration intends to launch a river tram route between the left bank of the Dnipro River and the River Port by the time of the Eurovision 2017 international song contest. Serhii Maizel, director of the transport infrastructure department of the Kyiv city state administration, announced this to Ukrainian News. "At a meeting of the Kyiv city state administration key infrastructure projects for the Eurovision were selected… There is a plan to establish a transport communication between the River Port and the left bank by launching a river tram route," he said. In the near future the authorities of the city will prepare draft resolution of the Kyiv city state administration and budgets of projects on repair of road carpet, development of on-surface crossings near basic locations of the song contest, selection of hotels that will host the biggest number of tourists, launch of shuttle buses to basic locations of the song contest. The Kyiv city state administration also eyes options to prolong the time of operation of all kinds of the city transport during mass events of the song contest. The Kyiv city state administration plans that the deadline for all technical works will be 1 April 2017. As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Kyiv city state administration intends to invest UAH 41 million in the development of the tourist infrastructure within preparations for hosting the Eurovision 2017 international song contest.
