World Bank To Help Education Ministry Improve Institutional Capacity Of Educational Analytics Institute

The World Bank will help the Ministry of Education and Science improve the institutional capacity of the Educational Analytics Institute.

Ukrainian News Agency learned this from a statement made by the Ministry press service following the meeting of First Deputy Minister of Education and Science Volodymyr Kovtunets with representatives of the World Bank team.

They were talking about implementing the World Bank's decision to grant Ukraine funds for developing educational statistics capacities.

According to Cristian Aedo, a Senior Education Economist in the Europe and Central Asia Human Development Sector of the World Bank, the grant is meant to improve the institutional capacity of the Educational Analytics Institute, develop the integrated information system for education management. Support Ukraine's participation in the OECD's (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA; a triennial international survey which aims to evaluate education systems worldwide by testing the skills and knowledge of 15-year-old students).

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Cabinet of Ministers on December 1, 2014 disestablished the Institute of Innovative Technology and Education Content under the Education Ministry and created the Institute for the Modernisation of the Education Content and the Educational Analytics Institute on the base of the liquidated institute.
