The Boeing Company (the United States) intends to open a reserve landing field for cargo planes in Kherson. Yurii Rozhkov, head of the municipal property and transport commission of the Kherson regional council, announced this during presentation of the reconstruction of the Kherson international airport. He said the Boeing Company requires a 3-kilometer landing strip. The Boeing Company used to have a reserve landing field in Simferopol, Crimea. He says cargo planes of Boeing will be able to land there and perform repair works if necessary. As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Kherson international airport provides services to one daily flight Istanbul - Kherson - Istanbul of Turkish Airlines. Kherson Airport embraces terminal, landside and airside areas. Its handling capacity is 400 passengers per hour. The airport has an artificial runway of 2,500 m long and 42 m wide; main and exit taxiways, flight navigation facilities. The airport runway handles Boeing-737, Airbus-319\/320\/321, Тu-154, Тu-134, Yak-42, Аn-24\/26\/12\/148 aircraft and all types of helicopters.
