The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe calls on the Ukrainian authorities to accelerate investigations into crimes against activists of the Euromaindan in Kyiv in 2013-2014 and into events in Odesa of 2 May 2014.
This is said in the Resolution of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe passed on October 12, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on Wednesday, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted two resolutions on Ukraine and its conflict with Russia.
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe calls on Russia to withdraw its troops from Donbas, to stop supporting militants in Donbas and its annexation of Crimea.
The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe calls on the Russian Federation to stop repressions against residents of Donbas and the Russia-annexed Crimea loyal to the Ukrainian authorities. It also calls on Russia to ensure protection of major rights of all residents of self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics (DPR and LPR) and assist in independent monitoring of the human rights situation in all Ukrainian territories controlled by Russia inter alia in Crimea.
At the same time, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe expresses its concerns over pressure on the political opposition and some media outlets.
