The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe's representative on freedom of the media Dunja Mijatovic has called for early completion of the investigation of the fire at the Inter television channel.
Mijatovic made the call on the Inter television channel, Ukrainian News reports.
Mijatovic condemned the attack on the offices of the television channel and said that manifestation of violence in such cases was unacceptable.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv recently ordered the Security Service of Ukraine to open criminal proceedings in connection with the attack on the offices of the National Information Systems limited liability company in Kyiv in September and treat it as a terrorist act.
President Petro Poroshenko has instructed Prosecutor General Yurii Lutsenko to take personal control of the investigation into the attack on the offices of the television channel.
The National Union of Journalists has said that provocation in a professional atmosphere and malevolence against journalists of the Inter television channel are unacceptable.
