The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe’s Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine has said that the Russian Armed Forces’ representative in the Joint Center on Control and Coordination of issues related to the ceasefire regime and the stabilization of the situation on the contact line (JCCC) is not present in Petrivske (Donetsk region).

The mission announced this in a statement on its Facebook page, Ukrainian News reports.

According to the statement, OSCE monitors have limited access to the Petrivske/Bohdanivka area of disengagement of forces because the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the self-proclaimed "Donetsk People's Republic" are unable to guarantee the safety of the mission’s monitors.

"SMM is ready/able to monitor, but needs access. UAF JCCC representative is present on the ground in Bohdanivka however cannot guarantee security for the SMM. RF AF JCCC rep is not present in Petrivske," the statement said.

The statement emphasizes that the JCCC should assist in ensuring safe and unhindered access and coordinate mine clearance.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the self-proclaimed "Donetsk People's Republic" has announced that it has begun clearing mines from a territory near the village of Petrivske (Donetsk region).
