The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs believes that the intercepted telephone conversations allegedly proving involvement of pro-Russian militants in the downing of the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 in July 2014, which was made public by Dutch investigators, were fabricated. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova announced this at a news briefing, Ukrainian News reports. According to Zakharova, competent Russian specialists have performed a professional expert examination of one of the conversations. Zakharova said that Russia did not hear the specific evidence that the Dutch investigators cited. As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Russian President Vladimir Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov has said that the results of the investigation into the downing of the Malaysia Airlines flight are provisional. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) has welcomed the first results of the Malaysia Airlines crash investigation. Dutch prosecutors said that hey have established the identities of 100 suspects in the Malaysia Airlines crash.
