The European Parliament's Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice, and Home Affairs has recommended that the European Parliament introduce visa-free travel to the European Union for citizens of Ukraine.

The committee's members voted for the relevant decision at a meeting, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

Member of the European Parliament Maria Gabriel delivered a report on liberalization of the European Union's visas for Ukrainian citizens at the meeting.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 38 members of the Committee supported the proposal to grant visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens.

It is also noted, that proposal for ratification of the agreement with the European Police Office, allowing to strengthen cooperation in law enforcement was supported at the meeting.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, President Petro Poroshenko has said that he expects the European Union to adopt a decision on introduction of visa-free travel for Ukrainian citizens in early October.

In early September, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Ukraine has fulfilled all the European Union's requirements for introduction of visa-free travel for Ukrainian citizens
