Ukraine's representatives in the Joint Center on Control and Coordination of issues related to the ceasefire regime and the stabilization of the situation on the contact line (JCCC) reports about the escalation of the situation in the zone of the antiterrorist operation.

The ATO press center announced this in a statement, Ukrainian News reports.

The statement reads that 214 facts of shelling of the positions of the Ukrainian armed forces, populations center, important facilities of the infrastructure of Donbas were registered in the first ten days of September 2016. The shelling was from the territories not controlled by the Ukrainian government in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Thirty cases of use of weapons forbidden by the Minsk agreements were registered in the first ten days of September. A total of 410 ammunition units were fired during the period.

The statement reads that the situation remains controlled on the whole, but there is a tendency for escalation of the conflict.

Ukraine's representatives in the JCCC express their big concern over a fact registered on September 11 when militants used 122-mm artillery systems outside Mariupol for the first time since the introduction of the comprehensive ceasefire regime.

In addition, observers of the JCCC registered the use of 120-mm and 82-mm mine throwers on Sunday (78 and 14 explosions respectively).

The statement reads that most of facts of shelling represent provocations pursuing fire from the side of the Ukrainian army in response.

Militants have essentially increased the cases of use of unmanned aircraft systems in the ATO zone.

Over 30 facts of use of unmanned aircraft systems in the ATO zone were registered in the first ten days of September and 12 cases were registered on September 9 alone.

Snipers of militants fired upon the positions of the Ukrainian army 18 times.

Ukraine's representatives in the Joint Center on Control and Coordination of issues related to the ceasefire regime and the stabilization of the situation on the contact line assess the facts of fire as gross violations of the agreements. Ukraine's representatives in the JCCC have applied to the Russian side in the JCCC for explanations and demand to employ its influence on leaders of certain districts of Luhansk and Donetsk regions in order to achieve strict observation of the agreements.

As Ukrainian News reported, militants fired upon the positions of the forces of the antiterrorist operation nine times on Sunday.
