The Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) in the aggressor country is no longer publishing data from its "open" poll on public trust in russian president vladimir putin, after the figure stood at 29.5% in April.

It was reported by The Moscow Times.

In the April "open-ended question" survey—where respondents independently name the politician they trust without being prompted with names—the approval rating for putin stood at 29.5%. This figure was the lowest since the start of the full-scale war and differed by more than half from the results of polls with a direct question about trust, which recorded 73.8% in April and 72.3% in May.

The most recent data published using this methodology was dated April 5 and pertained to the March survey. Figures for April and May were not published in an open format.

At the same time, VCIOM continues to conduct weekly measurements of approval ratings for putin’s performance. As of May 31, this figure stood at 66.6% and had been declining for the second week in a row. The lowest figure since 2022 was recorded on April 19—65.6%.

As a reminder, russian intelligence agencies briefly shut down part of the video surveillance system used to protect russian president vladimir putin and his inner circle. The decision is linked to the aftermath of an Israeli intelligence operation against the Iranian leadership.
