On the night of May 22, the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck a number of russian targets, including in the area of Starobilsk in the occupied Luhansk Region. At the same time, russian propaganda media are spreading information about alleged strikes on civilian targets, according to the General Staff.
"We would like to inform you that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are striking military infrastructure and facilities used for military purposes, strictly adhering to the norms of international humanitarian law, the laws and customs of war," the statement reads.
Thus, a number of the russian aggressor’s facilities were struck overnight, including an oil refinery, ammunition depots, air defense systems, command posts, and enemy personnel, specifically one of the headquarters of the “Rubicon” unit near Starobilsk.
According to the General Staff, "Rubicon" is a russian military special unit known as the "Center for Advanced Unmanned Technologies," whose representatives regularly carry out attacks on the civilian population and civilian facilities on Ukrainian territory.
It should be noted that putin’s inner circle believes the war has reached a stalemate and has no clear path to resolution.
