The European Union has approached the final decision on providing financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of EUR 90 billion, having started the final agreement procedure.
This is reported by Deutsche Welle.
This is the last legal stage - amendments to the EU's multi-annual budget, which are to be considered at the meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives of the European Union member states on April 22.
As noted, the issue was included in the agenda without discussion, which usually indicates prior agreement between the member states.
If approved, the decision is planned to be approved by a written procedure, after which it will officially enter into force and allow funding for Ukraine to be launched.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on April 14, Politico reported, citing sources, that France, Germany, the Netherlands, and Italy opposed Ukraine's accelerated accession to the European Union.
In February of this year, it became known that the European Union was preparing to include several options for Ukraine's membership in a possible peace agreement to end the war.
