French Renault and Turgis Gaillard are working on the creation of the Chorus cruise missile, which the French defense ministry calls a direct analog of the Ukrainian Flamingo system.
Militarnyi reports this.
The Chorus missile initiative is being implemented in France as part of a joint program between Renault and Turgis Gaillard. According to Zone Militaire, the development is positioned as a response to the Ukrainian Flamingo cruise missile.
During a meeting of the French Senate, Patrick Pailloux, the General Delegate for Armaments, said that the Chorus program envisages the creation of an analog of the Ukrainian system. He noted: "As for drones and remotely controlled munitions, under the Chorus program, which we are implementing jointly with Renault and Turgis Gaillard, we intend to develop an analog of the Ukrainian Flamingo missile," he said in his speech.
The French defense ministry directly links the development to the Ukrainian missile and considers it a technological analog. At the same time, the program does not envisage large-scale procurement: it is aimed at testing the possibility of mass production if necessary.
According to published data, the Chorus missile should have a warhead weighing 500 kilograms and a range of up to 3,000 kilometers. The estimated cost of one product is estimated at about EUR 100,000. Other technical characteristics are not yet disclosed.
In March 2026, missile and artillery troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked the Promsintez plant in Chapayevsk, Samara Oblast, russia. Ukrainian FP-5 Flamingo missiles were used to attack the facilit.
