During March 2026, the air defense forces of Ukraine demonstrated the highest level of effectiveness in recent months, successfully neutralizing 89.9% of enemy air targets. This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
In total, 641 enemy air attack vehicles did not reach their targets, including missiles of various types and strike drones. The defense department emphasizes that despite the intensification of russian attacks, the downing indicators demonstrate stable positive dynamics.
Statistical data indicate a gradual strengthening of air defense over the past four months, during which the overall effectiveness of target destruction increased by 9.7%. In particular, if in December this indicator was 80.2%, then in January it increased to 82.5%, in February it reached 85.6%, and in March it came close to the mark of 90%. The Ministry of Defense explains such results by the introduction of new technologies and the development of already proven means of protection, which allows the Ukrainian military to better intercept Shaheds and missiles with which the occupiers regularly terrorize peaceful cities.
Currently, the Ukrainian military leadership is setting itself even more ambitious goals, stipulated in the current War Plan. The strategic task for the defense forces is to achieve an interception rate of at least 95% of all enemy missiles and drones. The ministry emphasizes that behind each percentage increase is daily work on the modernization of air defense and strengthening the coordination of units that protect Ukrainian airspace.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in March, interceptor drones destroyed 55% more targets compared to February.
