A truck with 12 tons of KitKat chocolate bars did not arrive at its destination in Poland after leaving central Italy.
This was reported by Nestlé.
The transport was carrying 413,793 bars from the new product line. The incident was reported by Reuters with reference to the company.
Nestlé said that the truck was stolen, but did not specify where exactly this happened. The location of the transport and products is currently unknown.
Each bar from this batch has a unique QR code that allows you to track the product. When scanned, the system provides information to contact the manufacturer.
Nestlé also drew attention to the increase in the number of cargo thefts and called it a problem for businesses of all sizes. Company representatives added that they "appreciate the exceptional taste of criminals."
As a reminder, prices for chocolate and cocoa-containing confectionery products may increase in Ukraine as the war in the Middle East continues. Disruptions in logistics and rising energy prices may lead to chocolate in Ukraine becoming a premium product.
