The Cabinet of Ministers has appointed Vasyl Shkurakov as Deputy Minister of Defense. This was announced by Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
Fedorov also reported that Shkurakov will deal with finance and internal audit issues at the Defense Ministry.
43-year-old Shkurakov has over 10 years of experience in public finance management; he worked as Deputy Minister of Finance (2018-2021) and First Deputy Minister of Infrastructure (2021-2024). In May-September 2024, Shkurakov served as acting Minister of Community, Territorial and Infrastructure Development.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on March 25, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed Mstyslav Banik as Deputy Minister of Defense instead of Yurii Myronenko. Banik, as Deputy Minister, will be responsible for procurement reform.
Fedorov appointed Myronenko to the position of Inspector General of the Ministry of Defense.
