About 40% of the aggressor country russia's oil export capacity was shut down as a result of Ukraine's strikes and the detention of several tankers with russian oil. This shutdown is the largest supply disruption in the modern history of the russian federation.

It was reported by Reuters with reference to its own calculations on Wednesday, March 25.

Ukraine has stepped up attacks on its oil export infrastructure this month. Three of the largest western ports through which russia supplies oil have come under attack. These are Novorossiysk, Primorsk and Ust-Luga.

According to Reuters estimates, about 40% of crude oil export capacity was shut down as of Wednesday after the latest strike. That's about 2 million barrels a day.

This includes not only the aforementioned ports, but also the Druzhba pipeline, which stopped transiting oil at the end of January this year.

Unnnamed traders told Reuters that the detention of several tankers of the so-called "shadow fleet" in Europe has disrupted exports of 300,000 barrels per day from the russian port of Murmansk.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, yesterday, March 24, Bloomberg wrote that russian Urals oil on the west coast of India was sold for USD 121 per barrel for the first time. At the same time, on March 16, Indian traders could buy a barrel of Urals for almost USD 90.

The rise in russian oil prices occurred amid the war against Iran, which has blocked oil exports from the Persian Gulf countries. Against this backdrop, the United States eased sanctions against russia, allowing third countries to buy russian oil.
