Advisor to the Minister of Defense Serhii Beskrestnov (Flash) and former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Valerii Zaluzhnyi got into a verbal altercation on Facebook. The discussion took place under a post by volunteer Roman Sinitsyn about Zaluzhnyi's possible political rating among the military.
What did Flash say about Zaluzhnyi?
Roman Sinitsyn asked what Valerii Zaluzhnyi's rating is in the military environment. In response, Beskrestnov called this question a "very controversial" topic and expressed doubt about the existence of an unambiguous assessment.
"How and why did someone decide in the comments here that Zaluzhnyi has a high or low rating in the Armed Forces? I, for one, am not ready to say anything unequivocally. Many people received awards and remember it, many served well, many were helped by the Commander-in-Chief, but many stormed minefields for nothing, many did not understand the Commander-in-Chief's abandonment of the army and the country. And time flies fast and changes a lot. A very controversial topic, as with any politician," Beskrestnov wrote.

What did Zaluzhnyi say to Flash?
Valerii Zaluzhnyi responded to the advisor's comment, noting that similar discussions have arisen before.
"In this fast-moving time, the only thing that remains unchanged is that with every new defense minister who came, there was always either an adviser or a deputy who took on the task of fighting this 'rating'," Zaluzhnyi wrote.

As reported, on January 25, 2026, Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov appointed Serhii Beskrestnov as his advisor on technological areas of defense.
Earlier, Valerii Zaluzhnyi spoke publicly for the first time about the conflict with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the war, claimed pressure on him from the SSU, and literally blamed the President for the failure of the counteroffensive.
