President Volodymyr Zelenskyy plans to hold direct talks with russian dictator vladimir putin to find a way out of the impasse on the issue of territories.
He said this in an interview with Axios, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The President has already instructed his team to begin organizing a meeting at the leadership level.
The venue for this should be Geneva, where consultations are currently underway.
Zelenskyy believes that only a direct conversation with putin will help achieve a result.
"The best way to achieve a breakthrough on the most difficult issue in the negotiations - territories - is to meet with putin face to face," the publication quotes the President.
Ukrainian diplomats in Geneva are currently working on the possibility of such a meeting as part of the overall negotiation process.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Foreign Ministry previously stated that Zelenskyy was ready to meet with putin to discuss the issues of the territories and the occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
