In temporarily occupied Luhansk, under the guise of a "dialogue of cultures", the invaders organized a demonstration excursion for foreign medical students from India, Yemen, Iraq and Syria to an Orthodox church as part of the so-called "Year of Unity of the Peoples of russia". This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD) under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC).
Thus, it is reported that pro-Kremlin representatives, talking about "traditional values", presented this event as an example of the international openness of the occupied region. The emphasis was on the fact that foreign youth are allegedly actively interested in the "spiritual heritage of Donbas", which is supposed to create the impression of growing international interest in the TOT.
"In fact, this is another attempt at informational legitimization of the occupation. The involvement of foreign students is used as a tool to create the illusion of international presence and tacit approval of the actions of the aggressor country, the russian federation, in the occupied territories," the Center says.
The Center adds that the occupation administration has already used similar tactics, organizing visits of so-called "foreign journalists" and politicians to the Donetsk Region in order to create an image of "international support" and spread propaganda narratives about the "reconstruction of Donbas."
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, according to the Center, russia is using students in the occupied territories for military propaganda.
