Poland raised military aircraft due to shelling of Ukraine by russians

On the night of February 17, Poland raised military aircraft due to shelling by the aggressor state of russia of the territory of Ukraine, and air defense systems were also on alert.

This was announced by the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"Due to the activities of long-range aircraft of the russian federation, which are carrying out strikes on the territory of Ukraine, the use of military aircraft in Polish airspace has begun," the agency reported.

It is indicated that the Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces has deployed the necessary forces and means at its disposal. Ground-based air defense and radar recognition systems were on alert.

These actions were preventive in nature and were aimed at ensuring security and protecting airspace, in particular, in areas adjacent to the territories under threat.

Monitoring of the situation continued to ensure that subordinate forces and means were ready for immediate response.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on the night of Tuesday, February 17, the russians launched 29 missiles of various types and 396 strike drones over the territory of Ukraine, and air defense forces managed to neutralize 392 enemy targets - 25 missiles and 367 drones.
